In order to escape from the locked room you’ll need imagination and an effective team collaboration. But no worries-it’s still just a game. The aim is not to make you frustrated, but to make you enjoy yourself.
-
The choice of room matters. Certain rooms are atmospheric, others more logical. Don’t go into a horror room if you have a sensitive person or a small child in your team. You should also look at the difficulty of the room- the easier rooms are more suitable for newbies. The number of people in your group can also be decisive.
-
Arrive in a good mood. Escape room is a game, fun and you have to remember that in the first place. It’s suitable for groups of friends and families. You have to enjoy the game, relax and if you feel like it use the toilet before the game, and have fun. If you’ve already been in the room, don’t ruin the experience for others by giving away the riddles. Don’t play if you’re drunk or in a bad mood.
-
Don’t break things. You never have to use excessive force, pressure or similar. Despite this fact a lot of new players deal forcibly with lockers. Believe us, there’s always a logical trick that’ll work instead of pulling the equipment out.
-
Ignore some items. There are things that just have an aesthetic function in the room. For example old books, furniture etc. Don’t focus on studying the manufacturing number of a table. Likewise electrical plugs are also not usually part of the game.
-
Collaborate. And mainly-communicate, communicate. If someone becomes a leader-great. If there isn’t anyone near an object- explore it yourself. If you discover something, don’t be afraid to shout it out. Listen to each other. Some puzzles can only be solved by the collaboration of two people who, for example, have to press something at the same time or both stand at certain places.
-
Try different solutions. Sometimes you’ll get stuck because you’re only trying the same way over and over again, because you’re convinced that that’s the right way. But the solution can be something completely different. Think about another way. Don’t try to guess a super long combination of numbers- the solution will for sure be something easier and more elegant.
-
Notice details. Whenever you feel like it’s possible, split up and study small details. Important details can be everywhere- in a book, secret box, a secret ledge and so on.
-
Don’t be afraid to ask for advice. The players are always supervised by a game master. If the solving of riddles is ideal he doesn’t have to step in. If you get stuck he can help you with advice. Of course it’s not his place to give you the solution, but to guide you by a tip. You can just ask for advice by asking the ceiling and maybe an answer will come.
-
Don’t panic. Escape room is also called panic room, however most of the time the goal of the personnel isn’t to scare you to death : ). Adrenalin is part of the game, and panic is just a normal reaction of newbies for who this manual is made for.
